I Leave Her To God, Says ‘fake’ Corps Member’s Victim

One Amale Pius told an Abuja Grade 1 Area Court that he is ready to commit a suspected fake female corps member that allegedly carted away his over N1 million worth of properties to God.

The court struck out the case of the suspected 25-year-old woman, Anita Ubi Sani, following the withdrawal of the case by the nominal complainant on Tuesday.

Anita Ubi Sani of Back of Cathedral Church, Wida, Abuja, was charged with joint act and theft, offences that contradict Sections 79 and 287 of the Penal Code.

The Police prosecutor, Igono Icholi, had earlier told the court that the complainant, of Phase 2, Site 1, on February 3, reported at the Kubwa Police Station that the accused, with two others, presently at large, jointly in furtherance of a common intention, went to his apartment and carted away his properties worth N1, 505, 000 without his consent.

He said the accused sold the items in an undisclosed place and converted the proceeds to her personal use.

According to the prosecutor, the accused was arrested in a DSTV office in Bwari, where she was trying to recharge one of the stolen items, thereby causing him wrongful loss.

When the case came up in court, the complainant requested that the case be withdrawn.

He said he was touched by God to leave everything to Him.

The Judge, Mohammed Marafa, while striking out the case, asked the complainant to apply for the termination of the case citing his reasons.

We Will Continue With Jonathan’s Privatisation Programme – Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has assured international investors of the readiness of his administration to continue with major privatisation programme started by previous governments but with “improved moral architecture.”

The President gave the assurance on Tuesday at a business forum organised by the United States Chamber of Commerce and The Corporate Council on Africa, in continuation of his four-day official visit to the US.

He called on US investors to take advantage of the nation’s liberal trade and investment climate by investing in the various profitable businesses available in Nigeria.

According to him, his government’s intention was to continue to create enabling environment for future investments to thrive in the country.

He said: “It is my intention to create the necessary environment for future investment in Nigeria.

“We are the most populous nation with largest market in Africa with vast human and natural resources and blessed with abundant young skilled workforce.

“We are therefore a proud candidate to become the destination of choice for United States investments in Africa. I will work assiduously to welcome new investors to our country.

“I will like to remind you all that we are continuing in major privatisation programmes with sectors ranging from telecommunication, energy, gas, solid minerals, aviation, health and infrastructural development, but with improved moral architecture. We will also simplify visa procedures based on principle of reciprocity.

“May I, therefore, seize this opportunity to formally invite the American business community to take advantage of our liberal trade and investment climate to do profitable business in Nigeria”

The President further urged the American business community to take advantage of the excellent political relationship between the two nations to expand trade and investment activities, including joint venture projects in priority sectors of the Nigerian economy, adding that the private sector must assume increasing role as part of the engine of growth.

According to Buhari, his government would specifically welcome genuine investors who were willing to embark on solid mineral exploration in Nigeria.

He also pledged that his administration would fulfill its key campaign promises which included creation of employment opportunities for millions of Nigerian youths.

He added: “Employment generation was one of my key campaign promises. I will do my best to keep this promise.

“There is no other way to expand economic opportunities and create employment opportunities for millions of our youths than boosting domestic manufacturing, undertaking infrastructural development and industrialisation.

“Let me repeat, Nigeria will partner with genuine investors who are willing to join us to achieve our economic objective and at the same time realise handsome returns to recoup their investments.

“There is more to Nigeria than oil. This is why I will continue to stress the need for increased United States investments in our non-oil sector.

“In this respect, the present administration will be attentive to the needs of the business community and pursue policies that will strengthen the sectors that drive the growth.’’

Groups Of People You Encounter In A Public Transport

Hello everyone! What's up? So which one of you don enter danfo/BRT/Elrufia before? (Oya come here and form for me now .

Either way, for people like us that use these means of transportation frequently, here's a list of characters you find ever present in them:

1. Assistant Drivers:
These ones are usually in front seats. You'll always hear them yelling at the driver saying, "Take left! Overtake that guy!" Or, "Driver no match brake na! Na him suppose stop for you...", or even, "Why you let am pass you? Driver you too slow oooh!". The annoying thing is that if you let them drive the car, they'll do worse sef!

2. Assistant conductors:
You find this set poking nosing in the "conductor's" issues. You hear them saying stuffs like, "Conductor u never give that woman change for front", or "Enter na, the bus dey go Ojuelegba....", or even "Conductor that man change don pass oh!".

3. The Argumentators :
To get them started, just say in a loud voice, "See as this road be, its all GEJ's fault....". I swear, that bus won't hear anything again till u get down. This set always come with 2 groups; the defenders and the opposers and they never agree on anything, be it politics, fuel issues or football. Wetin fit this set na headphones.

4. The Formers:
This set always act like its their first time in a public transport. They do funny stuffs like; clean the chair with a hanky before sitting, make a face with a someone sits close to them, wear shades (plzzzz, in a bus?!) or will even have the guts to ask you, "pls how do you open the windows?".........like seriously?

5. The Sleepers Crew:
Once this set finds a sit, they doze off. They are ready to sleep through the journey (even when paying their bus fare) till the bus gets to its final bustop. This set usually miss their bustop and over pay the conductors...so if u have missed yours before, lemme see your hands up

6. The observers:
I fall into this group. This set just plug in earphones and watch quietly as the characters above do their thing. They don't talk....almost invisible, sha just don't step on their toes if u know what is good for you.

That's all I have. Kindly add yours or identify your group

LASTMA Attack: Female Tricycle Operator Battles For Life (Photo)

A female tricycle operator in Lagos, Remi Johnson, is currently fighting for her life at the Federal Road Safety Commission hospital at Ojodu, Lagos following an attack by a LASTMA official.
P.M.NEWS gathered that Johnson, a widow and mother of two, was attacked by an official of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority for pleading on behalf of her brother, Smart Ofariko, who was arrested at Ogba-Ojodu road for obstructing traffic.
Investigations revealed that Ofariko was arrested by LASTMA officials for parking his tricycle at Aguda Bus Stop to receive a phone call.
Narrating the incident to P.M.NEWS, Ofariko explained that he called Johnson when he was asked to pay N5,000 by the LASTMA officials. He denied obstructing traffic, saying that he parked his tricycle at a bus stop to receive his call.

When Johnson arrived, one of the LASTMA officials identified as Mr. Raimi Odukoya attached to Ojodu zone, asked her not to intervene in the matter and allegedly pushed her and she fell down, hitting her head on the floor.
She passed out and was rushed to the FRSC hospital along Ojodu-Berger Road by the LASTMA officials.

“My sister would have died but I thank God that the nurses on duty saved her life,” Ofariko stated during a visit to the hospital with our correspondent.
When contacted, Head of Public Relations Unit of LASTMA, Bola Ajao, said Johnson was not pushed or attacked by LASTMA officials as alleged.
She explained that Johnson collapsed when she was asked to pay a certain amount of money before her impounded tricycle would be released to her for preventing LASTMA officials from performing their duty.

“When I called LASTMA officers at Ojodu-Berger, they told me that Mrs. Johnson was not pushed but collapsed after being told to pay a certain amount of money before she could collect her impounded tricycle,” Ajao explained on phone.
Reacting to the incident, Chairman, Duact Accord Business Limited, the franchise operator for tricycle operators in Ojodu, Akeem Adebeso, expressed shock over the manner the widow was treated by LASTMA officials.
“We have reported the matter at the Ojodu Police Station. We can no longer tolerate the excesses of LASTMA officials in Ojodu. We want Governor Akinwunmi Ambode to intervene in this matter. Our members are always harassed by LASTMA officials and it is time to stop it,” he said

Tension In Military As Buhari Demands Records Of Weapons Procurement

There is palpable uncertainty in the Nigerian Army as President, Muhammadu Buhari, is said to have ordered the military chiefs to furnish him with documents detailing how monies released for arms procurement to fight Boko haram were spent.

The president, Abuja Metro authoritatively gathered was also said to have ordered the military hierarchy to make available the records of total amount of money it received from the federal government to curb the insurgents.

Top military sources that revealed this development hinted that these and many other decision were taken after the president met with the service chiefs comprising of the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Air Chief Marshall Alex Badeh, Chief Of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant-General Kenneth Minimah, Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Usman Jibrin, Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshall Adesola Amosu, and the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Solomon Arase.

The source that does not want to be mentioned said the president may have taken the decision due to grumbling in the military by some personnel, who feel that their bosses and other of their colleagues occupying strategic appointments might have taken advantage of the operations counter terrorism to make huge money and deny the juniors fighting the war their basic benefits.

This they insist was not unconnected with the huge amounts released by the government, while others met their untimely death in the counter insurgency war.

The sources say many of their colleagues who are now six feet below, would not have died if those responsible for the disbursement of funds did so sincerely.

This is seen as being responsible for troops poor morale that makes them not give their best in confronting the terrorists.

The attitude is said to have discouraged most personnel and officers who do everything in their powers to avoid being posted to the north region Our sources said that shortly after President Buhari was declared winner of the presidential election, top serving and retired military officers began to bombard him with complaints of misappropriation of fund by the military authorities and taking advantage of the war to make huge monies.

The complainants went as far as revealing the names of some of the officers allegedly involved in the blood money, who no longer hide the money they make from the operation.

These senior officer from our findings had nothing before the commencement of the counter terrorism war, but have suddenly become millionaires overnight and have acquired choice properties in the Federal Capital Territory and drive the latest and expensive cars to the detriment of their colleagues.

According to the source, those that took part in the deal now run around to gather whatever they can get to make refunds before nemesis catches up with them.

The source said: “I can assure you that the president has given them a definite order to produce the records of how they spent the money allocated to them for the Boko Haram war, this in in terms of weapons purchase, kits, logistics and others.

We decided to reach the president on this because a lot of our officers and soldiers who were not supposed to have died lost their lives while most of those that were lucky to be alive are now deformed, while the big bosses, at the expense of the young soldiers enjoy their ill wealth.”

“Some of us who are aggrieved decided to use our means to reach the president and tell him how our big men looted the money meant for the war.

To buttress how bad the situation degenerated, he revealed that: “Most of our personnel have no bullet proof jackets, no uniforms, prompting the soldiers to wear all manner of shades of camouflage. They are poorly fed and most times denied payment of operation allowances.”

Rather than provide troops with the things meant for the operations, they claims to receive condemnation from their commanders instead, and so many have been prosecuted, thereby dampening their morale.

“Most of our bosses, see the operation as an avenue to make money and lobby to get posted to the region,” another source told Abuja Metro.

“Unlike in the past when soldiers lobbied to go for International Peace Keeping Operations, because of the foreign currency we made. But people don’t lobby to go for peace keeping again, what they do is lobby for counter terrorist war in the north east because the profit is very huge.

“I can tell you authoritatively that one of our officers that occupied a strategic position and got killed by Boko Haram had over N90m in his bank account in one of the new generational banks, and that was just after only about five months that he got posted there. They are many such officers we know.

“And that is why we are happy the president, who is also commander in chief has asked them to make the financial records of the operations available and not only that, they have been asked to refund whatever money that they did not spend.”

FG Stops Paying The School Fees Of N’delta Students In Foreign Universities

President, Ijaw Youth Council Worldwide, Mr. Udengs Eradiri, has raised the alarm over the plight of over 6,000 Niger Delta students on Federal Government’s scholarships in some foreign universities.

He said the authorities of the foreign universities had started delisting the students, majority of whom were Ijaws, due to the alleged Federal Government’s failure to pay the students’ fees.

Eradiri, who made the revelation at a news conference on Tuesday in Yenagoa, appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari and other well meaning Nigerians to wade into the matter to save the students.

He said the students’ plight was compounded by the vacuum in the Presidential Amnesty Programme because of absence of an administrator for the programme.

The IYC boss said the amnesty programme had of recent been beset with a lot of bureaucratic bottlenecks due to absence of an administrator.

He therefore urged President Buhari to appoint an administrator for the programme or do whatever he could with “the executive power he wields to ensure that somebody begins to take responsibility in that office.”

He said he had been under intense pressure in trying to maintain the peace in the region because stipends to ex-agitators had not been paid for the last two months.

Eradiri said he and other Ijaw leaders had been appealing for calm and for them not to take to the streets, nor go back to the creeks.

He stressed that they had been appealing to them to give President Buhari an opportunity to run government.

“I want to use this opportunity to call on the Niger Delta leaders, well meaning Nigerians and President Muhammadu Buhari to the fact that the cause of the vacuum in the presidential amnesty programme is as a result of the change in leadership.

“It has begun to tell on the lives of our young ones that are undergoing university training as a result of the amnesty programme in various countries – America, United Kingdom, London, South Africa and other African countries where we have young Nigerians.

“These young Nigerians who are undergoing education and training scattered round the world, because of the bureaucratic nature of the programme, the funding used to be month by month, most of the upkeep of the students is usually on a monthly basis.

But for two months now, the students have not been paid; the financial obligations to the institutions have not been met and so we heard the shocking news that some of the institutions have started delisting some of the students studying there.

“As for the UK, we know that rents are paid monthly and when the stipends are paid, these students also pay their rent. As I speak to you, a lot of them now are being thrown out of their accommodation; they are all on the streets.”

He said the matter was getting to a breaking point where they could no longer hold them (youths) back because “we have been doing that with just the word of mouth and the goodwill we enjoy as leaders. But when government fails to do their own part, then very unfortunately, we will not be able to maintain the peace as it was in the last few months.”

10 Students You Should Not Sit With If You Did Not Read For An Exam

This article is based on my experience at The kwara state polytechnic, ilorin; and I trust that this is also peculiar to every other institution across the nation

When it comes to exam, I'm just that kind of person that barely rely on my fellow students for help in the hall. This is to avoid a story that touches the heart

That being said, it's always good to study hard for an exam because this will boast your confidence and self esteem, but if you did not, if you sit with these categories of students during an exam, you are finished LOL

I know that many of my fellow peeps might have also come across these categories of students

Now let's analyze these categories of students

1. The S.U
I think this should top the list. This reminds of an exam I did not prepare for when I was in ND1. This was because I had little or no interest in the course. Unfortunately for me, I sat beside a religious zealous lady (we all call them S.U ). When things were getting out of hand, circumstances led me to call her to please save me from failure; and to my surprise this lady turned deaf ears to my calling but after so much disturbance, she flared up saying she's wouldn't do that cos that is a violation of religious law. Thank God I managed to get a D

2. First to submit Booklet Students
I don't know if there's a special mark awarded to students who submit their booklets first. When they manage to answer all their questions, they will quickly zoom off to submit their booklets. This is done probably to intimidate other students, making them look like olodo

3. Those who also want to Copy you
This is very funny. If you did not prepare for an exam and you happen to sit with students whose aims and objectives is just to copy every everything you have written word for word. This means that you all are most likely to submit empty booklets..lol

4. Masquerade Carriers
These categories of students will succeed in examination malpractice even if batalion of solders invigilate. However, I have observed that these students are always very observant and watchful just to avoid being caught. If you ask them for answers, they will keep posting you even though they have written 10 pages and your booklet is still empty.

5. The who are topping the class
I don't know if this also happens in other institutions. Majority of those who are the rockers of a department barely communicate with other students during an exam. They are mostly quiet and will never do side talks. If you don't study hard for an exam and you sit with them thinking your prayers are answered. Be rest assured that failure is your friend lol

6. Boastful Students
This normally happens in the first year (ND1 and 100l). During the first semester, these categories of students will always ask questions during lectures probably to show that they understand the lecture better than every other students; more so, if all their fellow students are bereft of knowledge of something, these boastful students will give other students an impression that they know it all. Don't be misled by their acts cos many gullible freshers will be clustered around them in a bid to make friends with them. If you rely on them during an exam, you are finished !

7. Students Who Claim they are smarter than you
These students will your answers to theirs, but when you ask them for their own answers, they will tell you to be patient with them. If i hear say dem tell u

8. Students You Will Find at night class 24/7

This can be sometimes deceiving. That a student leaves the class at 11pm reading is not an indication of brilliance. Some of them may not be as brilliant as you think. If you are misled by this and you rush to sit with them during an exam, you might end up biting your finger.

9. Student who hold themselves in high esteem

These ones know nothing but because they hold themselves in high esteem, they will not ask you for answers and will not tell you either. This is because they know that the breeze will expose the anus of the chicken when they tell you what they have written

10. Add yours..LOL

He wrote: "In my spiritual walk with God I have experienced both good and hard times. Who knows what would have happened if those temporary stops did not come at intervals? Consider how my education suffered epileptic fits; today I am in school, the next day I am out, especially for want of money. I don’t want to call it poverty because the man that is poor is not the one who has no money but one without a dream. Children of destiny can never be poor, though they may experience temporary lacks.

"Before I knew it, I had gone around six different colleges in less than one year. I enrolled for JAMB four times and on each occasion, it was either I forgot my acknowledgement card and other necessary documents or there was an accident on the way to examination venues. People who saw what was happening to me simply attributed my predicament to either sin or non-seriousness on my part. But those with the maturity that comes from faith, like my mother, saw it as mere stopping intervals/ natural stops in my spiritual walk with God.

"I began to look at whatever came my way with a mind whose focus was on God alone, I mean, the maturity that comes from faith in the finished works of our Lord Jesus Christ. Workers Shut Down Operations Of Ait/ray Power

Members of staff of DARR Communications, owners of AIT/Ray Power stations in Benin City, Edo sate, engaged the management of the media outfit in a showdown, shutting down the station’s broadcasting activities over alleged high handedness on the part of the management of the station and nonpayment of their salaries of between 11 and 17 months.

The aggrieved workers who took over the entrance to the premises of the broadcast outfit situated along the Benin/Lagos by pass, Ikhueniro village, said they were living in penury while some of the management staff live in opulence.

Armed with placards of various anti-management slogans, the AIT/Ray Power staff described as annoying that their employers would be contemplating laying off staff even when they were not paying regularly.

They further alleged that one of the managers of the station informed their superiors in Abuja that working with contract staff would be more convenient for them in the station than working permanent staff.

Efforts to reach the Benin station manager, Oyeghe Oyarekhua who is Head of AIT and Osadolor Igiozee, head of Ray Power and the outfit’s head of marketing, Baimoh Emozozo were not successful as they were not in the office when journalists visited the station, but asked that all enquiries to be directed to the Abuja headquarters of the organisation.

“Everything is about salaries and these are issues handled by the Headquarters, so will advise that enquiries be directed to Abuja. But I can assure you that management at that level is working to ensure all is well,” a staff who did not want to be named volunteered to journalists.
The stations are currently off air and their followers awaits what happens therafter.

8 Ways Ladies Stylishly Punish Guys On First Date

I don't know why some ladies prove hard to get as they stylishly punish guys to know if he can withstand their haughty behaviour or simply they are not interested in having a relationship with him.

Therefore, I will discuss briefly on ways ladies stylishly punish guys.

1. Bring friends along like Protocol officers.
The poor dude perhaps may have borrowed money just to make the date a memorable one. However he later discovers that instead of having a date with his supposed girlfriend alone, she eventually comes along with her numerous friends to siphon his pocket. Funny enough if he tells her his preparation was just for him and her alone, she will start nagging, giving unnecessary excuses like maybe he is a criminal or something, so she can't trust a stranger.

2. They get busy with their mobile devices

This is when they bring out their collection of mobile devices and start pressing them as if they have not operated one before whereby making the dude look foolish and non existence in their presence.

3. Make him overspend

Some ladies are parasitic in nature as they explore the rare advantage at the ink of any date by requesting for several meals, etc. I call them "the sharwama or hot dog babes" as they pick every dick and Harry of meals in an eatery during the first date.

4. They show up very late

When a date is fix at 3pm, they showed up around 6pm giving flimsy excuses of traffic jam due to a tanker explosion, armed robbery attack, boko haram bombing, etc. Thereafter, they won't show any remorse at the expense of expecting the guy to apologise.
*Person whey e dey lagos dey claim boko haram bombing... some babes no sabi lie*

5. Monosyllabic reponse to your discussion
How can a guy talks like parrot from morning till night, trying to prove good sense of humour only for him to get short and annoying responses from her like "k" "alright", "hmmm", "what", etc. His morale and confidence will burst like balloon.... one time!

6. Communicate with unfriendly body languages

Some use frustrating body languages like bad eyeing to downsize him, hissing continuously and frown @ him like tiger. In such scenario, the guy will have no choice other than to call it quit.

7. They deliberately start making several calls

This is the time they start calling their long time friends and relatives, keeping the guy in their lust prison like a dog. As a guy, so many things will be going on his mind as what he can do to have the lady's attention.

Don’t Befriend PDP Politicians Who Defected To APC – CAC Prophet Warns Buhari

A popular Prophet, Israel Nasiri, the Shepherd in Charge of Christ Apostolic Church released a warning statement to Buhari last week.

The statement reads:

“”Buhari will have a lot of problems. It was the people that spoilt PDP that are deflecting to APC. Nigerians knew that Tambuwal for instance was a PDP man.

“You cannot tell me that he didn’t have good relationship with personalities like former presidents Goodluck Jonathan and Olusegun Obasanjo.

“Buhari should note that as most of these politicians conspired against Jonathan and got rid of him, they could do the same thing for him.

“If Buhari wants to succeed, he should be a friend to politicians with unstable policies but never to entrust anything in their hands.”

“Growth means improvement from limited level to unlimited. Nigerians have been clamouring for change in churches, mosques, market places and everywhere.

“But God told me that Nigeria does not need change; they need growth. Nigeria needs to grow spiritually, economically, religiously and so on.

“Change means moving or shifting from one place or thing to another. God said Nigerians are deceiving themselves. What kind of change are we talking about?

“Is it change from good to bad or bad to good? We are crying for change but have we defined the kind of change we desire?”

“Nigeria needs growth and not change. I advise the new president and other elected officers including governors to consider this.

“You can only grow with Christ with good conscience. For instance, Ekiti people were clamouring for change. I think they have seen change but they are crying today.”

“A nation is a group of people leaving in a unit together guided by constitution. Every human being has different beliefs. We may have different God but it is obvious that people profess they have one creator.”

Presidency Orders Sack Of Civil Servants With 30 Years In Service And Above

Civil servants who have served up to 30 years may have to leave the service before the end of 2015, this is to pave way for fresh bloods into the system as a way of ensuring maximal output and restructuring of the civil service, LEADERSHIP Sunday gathered on good authority.

A source in the office of the Head of Service of the Federation told our correspondent on the condition of anonymity that a memo to that effect has been raised by the head of service to all permanent secretaries as well as heads of agencies and parastatals of the federal government for compliance.

According to our source, this is in line with the directive of the Presidency that all civil servants who have put in 30 years and above may have outlived their usefulness in the service, hence the need to restructure and inject fresh blood into the system.

The source told our correspondent that the Presidency had expressed concerns over the rate of corruption in the civil service, and resolved that the best way to stamp out or reduce corruption that has become the order of the day in the civil service would be to overhaul the entire system.

Our source in the office of the Head of Service also told our correspondent that the HOS was mandated to also ensure that all civil servants involved in any form of corruption be shown the way out, “even if such person or persons have not clocked 30 years in the civil service”.

The source told our correspondent that the HOS is further mandated to ensure that all permanent secretaries and heads of government agencies furnish the office with details of service of all civil servants. “The instruction handed my boss is to make sure that only people who have spent 30 years in the service and those who were involved in any kind of fraud are affected. This is not witch hunting, it is a way of cleaning up the civil service and providing opportunities for the new and fresh bloods who have the zeal and passion to work”.

The source, an assistant director in the office of the Head of Service, also said the inability of the office of the Auditor General for the Federation to issue queries to erring ministries and agencies of government involved in sharp practices has become responsible for the kind of impunity in the civil service.

Panel beater shot dead in attempt to kidnap Europe returnee(Pictured)

By Chinenye Ozor
NSUKKA—A panel beater at Obollo-Afor in Udenu Local Government Area of Enugu State has been shot dead while his colleague was badly wounded in an attempt to kidnap a returnee from Europe in his country home at Amube, Enugu-Ezike.
Vanguard gathered that the two kidnappers had been terrorising inhabitants of the area, raping and robbing unsuspecting victims of their valuables till the attempt to kidnap the returnee at his building site.

The suspects, identified as Tessy Iyong, 34, sustained bullet wounds and several machete cuts, and Sesso Nyoaku, a panel beater and father of four. Both hail from Benue State.
Nyaoku was shot dead while fleeing as the police accosted them, with support from local vigilante group in the area.
Vanguard investigations revealed that the kidnappers were dropped by a motorcycle at the building site of the returnee whose identity could not be ascertained at the time of this report, met a young man with a metallic Toyota Camry, and enquired if he was the owner of the building

It was further learned that when the young man said he came to see the owner of the project, the suspects disbelieved him because of his physical frame, pointed a gun at him and demanded his car keys which he surrendered without hesitation and they drove away.
Workers at the site were said to have immediately put calls across to Igbo- Eze North police division that a car had been snatched at Amube, prompting pursuit of the suspects.
It was gathered that the kidnappers abandoned the vehicle and fled into the bush, exchanging gun fire with the police.
The vigilante group in the community reportedly cordoned off the bush path, making it possible for the police to apprehend the suspects with gunshot wounds, even as an English made pistol was recovered from them.
One of the suspects, Tessy Iyong, told Vanguard that their mission was not to kidnap the returnee from Europe but to rob him of cash as they understood that he carried cash to the site as he paid his workers on daily basis.
Iyong explained that his dead accomplice, Sesso, was the one who brought the job since he understood the terrain as a panel beater who had lived at Obollo-Afor for sometime.
‘’We snatched the Toyota Camry to escape from the area, our intention was not to steal the car but to escape in it because the motorcycle that dropped us had left and we cannot trek to do that kind of work, it is risky.
‘’We know and that was why we took the car from the owner, although we thought he was the actual owner of the building when we struck,” he said.
The Area Commander, Nsukka police command, ACP Musa Haladu, praised the efforts of men and officers of Igbo-Eze South police division for quick response to the distress call that saved the situation at Amube.
