This is his school. He's been posting pics on FB and IG.

He wrote: "In my spiritual walk with God I have experienced both good and hard times. Who knows what would have happened if those temporary stops did not come at intervals? Consider how my education suffered epileptic fits; today I am in school, the next day I am out, especially for want of money. I don’t want to call it poverty because the man that is poor is not the one who has no money but one without a dream. Children of destiny can never be poor, though they may experience temporary lacks.

"Before I knew it, I had gone around six different colleges in less than one year. I enrolled for JAMB four times and on each occasion, it was either I forgot my acknowledgement card and other necessary documents or there was an accident on the way to examination venues. People who saw what was happening to me simply attributed my predicament to either sin or non-seriousness on my part. But those with the maturity that comes from faith, like my mother, saw it as mere stopping intervals/ natural stops in my spiritual walk with God.

"I began to look at whatever came my way with a mind whose focus was on God alone, I mean, the maturity that comes from faith in the finished works of our Lord Jesus Christ. I knew my case was already settled in Heaven. Here I am today in your midst; I can boast of what God is doing for us. Hallelujah! You are all witnesses.

Workers Shut Down Operations Of Ait/ray Power

Members of staff of DARR Communications, owners of AIT/Ray Power stations in Benin City, Edo sate, engaged the management of the media outfit in a showdown, shutting down the station’s broadcasting activities over alleged high handedness on the part of the management of the station and nonpayment of their salaries of between 11 and 17 months.

The aggrieved workers who took over the entrance to the premises of the broadcast outfit situated along the Benin/Lagos by pass, Ikhueniro village, said they were living in penury while some of the management staff live in opulence.

Armed with placards of various anti-management slogans, the AIT/Ray Power staff described as annoying that their employers would be contemplating laying off staff even when they were not paying regularly.

They further alleged that one of the managers of the station informed their superiors in Abuja that working with contract staff would be more convenient for them in the station than working permanent staff.

Efforts to reach the Benin station manager, Oyeghe Oyarekhua who is Head of AIT and Osadolor Igiozee, head of Ray Power and the outfit’s head of marketing, Baimoh Emozozo were not successful as they were not in the office when journalists visited the station, but asked that all enquiries to be directed to the Abuja headquarters of the organisation.

“Everything is about salaries and these are issues handled by the Headquarters, so will advise that enquiries be directed to Abuja. But I can assure you that management at that level is working to ensure all is well,” a staff who did not want to be named volunteered to journalists.
The stations are currently off air and their followers awaits what happens therafter.

8 Ways Ladies Stylishly Punish Guys On First Date

I don't know why some ladies prove hard to get as they stylishly punish guys to know if he can withstand their haughty behaviour or simply they are not interested in having a relationship with him.

Therefore, I will discuss briefly on ways ladies stylishly punish guys.

1. Bring friends along like Protocol officers.
The poor dude perhaps may have borrowed money just to make the date a memorable one. However he later discovers that instead of having a date with his supposed girlfriend alone, she eventually comes along with her numerous friends to siphon his pocket. Funny enough if he tells her his preparation was just for him and her alone, she will start nagging, giving unnecessary excuses like maybe he is a criminal or something, so she can't trust a stranger.

2. They get busy with their mobile devices

This is when they bring out their collection of mobile devices and start pressing them as if they have not operated one before whereby making the dude look foolish and non existence in their presence.

3. Make him overspend

Some ladies are parasitic in nature as they explore the rare advantage at the ink of any date by requesting for several meals, etc. I call them "the sharwama or hot dog babes" as they pick every dick and Harry of meals in an eatery during the first date.

4. They show up very late

When a date is fix at 3pm, they showed up around 6pm giving flimsy excuses of traffic jam due to a tanker explosion, armed robbery attack, boko haram bombing, etc. Thereafter, they won't show any remorse at the expense of expecting the guy to apologise.
*Person whey e dey lagos dey claim boko haram bombing... some babes no sabi lie*

5. Monosyllabic reponse to your discussion
How can a guy talks like parrot from morning till night, trying to prove good sense of humour only for him to get short and annoying responses from her like "k" "alright", "hmmm", "what", etc. His morale and confidence will burst like balloon.... one time!

6. Communicate with unfriendly body languages

Some use frustrating body languages like bad eyeing to downsize him, hissing continuously and frown @ him like tiger. In such scenario, the guy will have no choice other than to call it quit.

7. They deliberately start making several calls

This is the time they start calling their long time friends and relatives, keeping the guy in their lust prison like a dog. As a guy, so many things will be going on his mind as what he can do to have the lady's attention.

8. They are in a hurry to leave

Perhaps she is a student, this is when she claims about an early lecture to attend the next day after she came late o! She rush the whole dating thing by asking the guy to get her "take away meal" and she zooms off immediately.
"Babe just admit it, you are hungry and looking for maga to feed u."

Don’t Befriend PDP Politicians Who Defected To APC – CAC Prophet Warns Buhari

A popular Prophet, Israel Nasiri, the Shepherd in Charge of Christ Apostolic Church released a warning statement to Buhari last week.

The statement reads:

“”Buhari will have a lot of problems. It was the people that spoilt PDP that are deflecting to APC. Nigerians knew that Tambuwal for instance was a PDP man.

“You cannot tell me that he didn’t have good relationship with personalities like former presidents Goodluck Jonathan and Olusegun Obasanjo.

“Buhari should note that as most of these politicians conspired against Jonathan and got rid of him, they could do the same thing for him.

“If Buhari wants to succeed, he should be a friend to politicians with unstable policies but never to entrust anything in their hands.”

“Growth means improvement from limited level to unlimited. Nigerians have been clamouring for change in churches, mosques, market places and everywhere.

“But God told me that Nigeria does not need change; they need growth. Nigeria needs to grow spiritually, economically, religiously and so on.

“Change means moving or shifting from one place or thing to another. God said Nigerians are deceiving themselves. What kind of change are we talking about?

“Is it change from good to bad or bad to good? We are crying for change but have we defined the kind of change we desire?”

“Nigeria needs growth and not change. I advise the new president and other elected officers including governors to consider this.

“You can only grow with Christ with good conscience. For instance, Ekiti people were clamouring for change. I think they have seen change but they are crying today.”

“A nation is a group of people leaving in a unit together guided by constitution. Every human being has different beliefs. We may have different God but it is obvious that people profess they have one creator.”

Presidency Orders Sack Of Civil Servants With 30 Years In Service And Above

Civil servants who have served up to 30 years may have to leave the service before the end of 2015, this is to pave way for fresh bloods into the system as a way of ensuring maximal output and restructuring of the civil service, LEADERSHIP Sunday gathered on good authority.

A source in the office of the Head of Service of the Federation told our correspondent on the condition of anonymity that a memo to that effect has been raised by the head of service to all permanent secretaries as well as heads of agencies and parastatals of the federal government for compliance.

According to our source, this is in line with the directive of the Presidency that all civil servants who have put in 30 years and above may have outlived their usefulness in the service, hence the need to restructure and inject fresh blood into the system.

The source told our correspondent that the Presidency had expressed concerns over the rate of corruption in the civil service, and resolved that the best way to stamp out or reduce corruption that has become the order of the day in the civil service would be to overhaul the entire system.

Our source in the office of the Head of Service also told our correspondent that the HOS was mandated to also ensure that all civil servants involved in any form of corruption be shown the way out, “even if such person or persons have not clocked 30 years in the civil service”.

The source told our correspondent that the HOS is further mandated to ensure that all permanent secretaries and heads of government agencies furnish the office with details of service of all civil servants. “The instruction handed my boss is to make sure that only people who have spent 30 years in the service and those who were involved in any kind of fraud are affected. This is not witch hunting, it is a way of cleaning up the civil service and providing opportunities for the new and fresh bloods who have the zeal and passion to work”.

The source, an assistant director in the office of the Head of Service, also said the inability of the office of the Auditor General for the Federation to issue queries to erring ministries and agencies of government involved in sharp practices has become responsible for the kind of impunity in the civil service.

Panel beater shot dead in attempt to kidnap Europe returnee(Pictured)

By Chinenye Ozor
NSUKKA—A panel beater at Obollo-Afor in Udenu Local Government Area of Enugu State has been shot dead while his colleague was badly wounded in an attempt to kidnap a returnee from Europe in his country home at Amube, Enugu-Ezike.
Vanguard gathered that the two kidnappers had been terrorising inhabitants of the area, raping and robbing unsuspecting victims of their valuables till the attempt to kidnap the returnee at his building site.

The suspects, identified as Tessy Iyong, 34, sustained bullet wounds and several machete cuts, and Sesso Nyoaku, a panel beater and father of four. Both hail from Benue State.
Nyaoku was shot dead while fleeing as the police accosted them, with support from local vigilante group in the area.
Vanguard investigations revealed that the kidnappers were dropped by a motorcycle at the building site of the returnee whose identity could not be ascertained at the time of this report, met a young man with a metallic Toyota Camry, and enquired if he was the owner of the building

It was further learned that when the young man said he came to see the owner of the project, the suspects disbelieved him because of his physical frame, pointed a gun at him and demanded his car keys which he surrendered without hesitation and they drove away.
Workers at the site were said to have immediately put calls across to Igbo- Eze North police division that a car had been snatched at Amube, prompting pursuit of the suspects.
It was gathered that the kidnappers abandoned the vehicle and fled into the bush, exchanging gun fire with the police.
The vigilante group in the community reportedly cordoned off the bush path, making it possible for the police to apprehend the suspects with gunshot wounds, even as an English made pistol was recovered from them.
One of the suspects, Tessy Iyong, told Vanguard that their mission was not to kidnap the returnee from Europe but to rob him of cash as they understood that he carried cash to the site as he paid his workers on daily basis.
Iyong explained that his dead accomplice, Sesso, was the one who brought the job since he understood the terrain as a panel beater who had lived at Obollo-Afor for sometime.
‘’We snatched the Toyota Camry to escape from the area, our intention was not to steal the car but to escape in it because the motorcycle that dropped us had left and we cannot trek to do that kind of work, it is risky.
‘’We know and that was why we took the car from the owner, although we thought he was the actual owner of the building when we struck,” he said.
The Area Commander, Nsukka police command, ACP Musa Haladu, praised the efforts of men and officers of Igbo-Eze South police division for quick response to the distress call that saved the situation at Amube.

With the adjustment on Tuesday, the clearing rate weakened against the greenback by N6.90k or 3.63 percent depreciation.

Udom Set To Sell Private Jet

UYO—Akwa Ibom State governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel, is not finding private jet ownership a worthwhile investment.

Vanguard gathered in Uyo, yesterday, that in view of Governor Emmanuel’s unfavourable disposition to the private jet acquired by his predecessor, Chief Godswill Akpabio to ease his movement outside the state, he is contemplating disposing of the aircraft.

Since his inauguration on May 29, 2015, Emmanuel is said to prefer travelling by chartered helicopters which he considers less-ostentatious.
An Akwa Ibom State Government House source told Vanguard that the governor was shopping for buyers of the jet to relieve him of the burden of fuelling and maintaining it.

The source could, however, not disclose the cost of fuelling and maintaining the jet.

“Governor Emmanuel is not comfortable with the idea of sustaining the ownership of the jet and is contemplating selling it, more so, because of the slash in states’ allocations and the high cost of aviation fuel,” the source said.

Efforts to speak with Mr. Ekerete Udo, Senior Special Assistant,Media/Chief Press Secretary to the governor was unsuccessful as he did not pick his calls.

Rivers State Governor Wike Sacks 344 Staff Of State Polytechnic

Rivers State Governor has been tagged the centre of a soaring tension in Rivers state as his verdict has left no fewer than 344 newly recruited staff, including lecturers of the State Polytechnic, Bori without jobs.

PM News earlier reported that Governor Wike may likely layoff the 13,200 teachers employed by his predecessor, Rotimi Ameachi after a resolution passed on Tuesday by the State House of Assembly gave him the right to do so. It was gathered that Governor Wike may sack the teachers after the board of the State Civil Service Commission was accused of breaching rules and illegally employing workers into the state service.

However, following the right issued to him (Wike), 344 newly recruited staff were shown the way out of service after they fell into the category of workers adjudged to have been wrongly employed, Leadership reports.

Speaking with newsmen, the public relations officer of the institution, Innocent Ogbonnaya Nwanwo , said the government also directed the Rector of the polytechnic, Sir Obianko Worlu Elechi to proceed on compulsory leave.

Nwanwo said the sack of the newly recruited staff, as well as the directive on the Rector to proceed on compulsory leave was contained in a directive sent to the Polytechnic by the State Ministry of Education.

He said, “The recent employment exercise we had at the Rivers State Polytechnic, Bori has been cancelled. The reason is that the government needed to review the process of their employment. The process that brought in the newly employed people; don’t forget, they have not started work, has been called off; it has been terminated by the state government.

“Right now, they don’t have a job here in the Rivers State Polytechnic. Technically speaking, that is the truth. The Rector is on leave; he was asked to proceed on leave.” The sack of the 344 newly recruited staff comes days after Governor Wike relieved the state’s Independent Electoral Commission Chairman (RSIEC), Prof. Augustin Ahiaozu, of his duty

Missing Ogun Poly Student Found Dead In Shrine

It was a horrific sight when the decomposing remains of 21 year old Morenikeji Owolabi were discovered in a shrine at the rustic Eposo village, Ishara, in Remo North Local Government Council of Ogun state.
Morenikeji, a female student of Science Laboratory Technology department at the Gateway Polytechnic, Saapade, hails from Ekiti state but was said to be missing some days ago.
But on Tuesday, her dismembered and decomposing remains were found littered at a Shrine by policemen.
The girl was allegedly lured to the shrine by a herbalist, Femi Awise, where she was found dead.
Awise, a native of Isara and prime suspect, is said to be on the run but five persons suspected to be working for him, including a cyclist who conveyed the girl to the shrine and an apprentice of Awise, have been arrested.
The suspects are Adeyemi Ademolu (the cyclist), Omolaso Taiwo (Awise’s apprentice), Lateef Ali, Akinyemi Dare, and Sokoya Wasiu.

According to Ademolu, the victim spoke with Awise twice seeking information about the direction while being conveyed to the shrine.
The state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Valentine Ntomchukwu, led some reporters to the shrine tucked inside a forest.
He said investigation had started to ascertain how the victim was killed.
Although the decaying legs of the girl exhumed from a shallow grave few meters away from the shrine were discovered but The Nation gathered that investigation continues to trace where her head, breasts and private part were kept.
The cubicle – size shrine made of corrugated iron sheets, was strewn with scary fetish objects, bottles of palm oil knives, plates and a pot filled with boiled human flesh and which had also began to emit foul odour.
Ntomchukwu said, “What we want to tell the public is that they should monitor the movement of their wards and children, especially when they are left to be in school and other public institutions.
“They should always keep watch over their children, call them regularly and where they don’t see them, they should quickly report to the police.
“If we had received this report on time, we would have been able to trace this lady. By the time we got the report, we now started scouting for information, only to arrest the okada man (motorcyclist) that brought her to the Shrine.
“It was from that okada man that we were able to know that she was taken to this area and by discreet investigation, we were able to discover this shrine.
“We don’t know how long this shrine has been in existence but we assure you that this particular nefarious activity would be put to an end.”
The Local Government chairman, Femi Soyemi, who was shocked and appalled by the horrible discovery said he never believe such savagery could exist in his domain.
Soyemi said, “I was shocked because I never expected this kind of horrible and brutal thing exists here.”
Also, a 40-year-old kidnapper, Emeka Obi, was arrested by the Police in connection with the kidnapping a 97-year-old nonagenarian, Mr. Iposiola Samaiye.
Ntomchukwu told reporters that Obi and members of his gang, kidnapped Pa Samaiye from his home in Ijebu-Isire last Thursday, and demanded ransom for his release but the Police trailed them to the forest where the victim was held captive.
According to him, Pa Samaiye is currently receiving treatment at a private hospital in Ijebu Ode.

President Buhari Was Misquoted: Like An Old Wine,he Gets Better With Age- Adesina

Femi Adesina , Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, has stated that President Muhammadu Buhari was misquoted by national dailies and online media, noting that, “like old wine, Buhari gets better with age”.

Adesina noted that on Monday evening, Buhari spoke with the Nigerian community at the Nigerian Consulate in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Speaking extempore, because according to him, he wanted to “speak from the heart,” the President urged them to be good ambassadors of Nigeria, a country he went to the warfront to keep together.

Buhari who served as a military governor of the then North-Eastern State at 33 years old, declared: “I wish I became Head of State when I was a governor. Now at 72, there is a limit to what I can do.”

He added that “old wines are tasty” and the President Buhari we have today is a man, like old wine, that has got tastier. At 72, yes, he can’t be called a youth, but he has in quantum the wisdom, the patience, temperance and forbearance that age brings. And all these virtues he has brought to the Presidency, to make a difference in our national life.

Meanwhile, the President assured the Nigerian community in South Africa that his administration will make a positive impact on the country. And that he would do.

“Insecurity as symbolized by insurgency will be brought to an end, corruption will be fought to a standstill, employment will be created for the teeming army of unemployed, the economy will be revived, and the quality of life of Nigerians will take an upward swing again. These will not come by a sudden flight, but they will happen in the life of this administration”.

Adesina noted that: “At 72, the Buhari persona has not changed. He remains the simple, honest, incorruptible patriot he has always been. And because Nigerians earnestly desired change, that was why they voted for him overwhelmingly at the general elections in March, this year. All the virtues and values of the Buhari persona will be deployed into governance in the weeks and months ahead.”

Buhari To Fight Graft With 5 Special Laws

Summary

VANGUARD reports that Presidency sources disclosed that a committee of legends in law, led by the vice-president, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo identified the five bills which have been passed on to the President for further scrutiny.

The bills which may become law for the anti-corruption fight include:

Office of the Financial Ombudsman Bill 2015
National Convicts and Criminal Records Bill 2015
Electronics Transactions Bill 2015
Whistle Blower Protection Bill 2015
Nigerian International Financial Centre Bill 2015

President Muhammadu Buhari is expected to employ five proposed laws as his weapons in the fight against corruption, close associates of the President have disclosed.

Presidency sources disclosed that a committee of legends in law, led by the vice-president, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo identified the five bills which have been passed on to the President for further scrutiny.

The President in turn is said to have requested legal advice on the five bills which include the Office of the Financial Ombudsman Bill 2015, National Convicts and Criminal Records Bill 2015, Electronics Transactions Bill 2015, Whistle Blower Protection Bill 2015 and the Nigerian International Financial Centre Bill 2015.

All five bills were among the 46 rushed through the Senate on June 3, the last day of sitting by the 7th Senate. Presidency sources, however, could not confirm if the presidency gave any prompting to the Senate on the bills that led to the controversial passage of the 46 bills in a space of 10 minutes.

Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu nevertheless confirmed the presidency’s interest in the five bills but would not say more than that when contacted by Vanguard.

DINNER—President Muhammadu Buhari waves to other guests as he is recognized amongst other Heads of States at a dinner which took place, yesterday, at the International Conference Centre in Johannesburg South Africa during 25th AU Summit

However, normally reliable sources close to the President told Vanguard that the President has sought legal advice on the bills. The sources, however, would not say to what degree the Osinbajo-led committee of legends in law has gone on the issue, but it is expected that the committee would prod the President to give his assent to the bills.

Osinbajo has generally been expected to lead the administration’s efforts in justice sector reform and the identification of the five bills in the initial campaign against graft is believed to be in that direction.

Osinbajo leads law experts

“A Committee of legends in law led by Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo (SAN) is putting finishing touches to a recommendation that will request President Muhammadu Buhari to assent to five of the 46 bills hurriedly passed by the 7th National Assembly at the point of its exit,” the normally reliable source now working with the president told Vanguard on the basis of anonymity.

The sources, however, could not confirm if the opinion have been delivered to the President who is expected back in the country today after a two-day visit to South Africa.

It is expected that the President’s assent to the bills would officially signal the administration’s expected fight against corruption.

Garba told Vanguard that President Buhari and his Vice had promised the nation in the course of their campaign that they would strengthen the country’s anti-graft laws. “If these bills are of help and I am convinced that they are, then expect some action in that direction,” he said.

The five weapons

The Whistle Blowers Protection Bill sponsored by former Senator Ganiyu Solomon “seeks to provide for the manner in which individuals may, in the public interest, disclose information that relates to unlawful or other illegal conduct or corrupt practices of others; to provide for the protection against victimisation of persons who make these disclosures.”

Senator Solomon first presented the bill to the House of Representatives where he served in 2007 but the bill did not get the expected legislative and executive endorsement until the concurrent passage by the Senate and the House of Representatives.

The bill defines the nature of an impropriety that qualifies for disclosure, the procedure for disclosure and the protection that would be given a whistleblower by government agencies.

It aims to give some measure of protection to individuals who give out information on alleged malfeasances in government to security agencies.

The Electronic Transaction Bill, 2011 was sponsored by a former member of the House of Representatives, Uzoma Nkem-Abonta provides the legal framework for electronic transactions in the country. The bill especially becomes relevant for security agencies in the wake of increasing transition of the country from a cash-based economy towards a cashless economy facilitated by electronic channels.

The Electronic Transaction Bill, when signed by the president, is expected to facilitate e-government services and promote transparency in the transaction of government businesses, including procurement and sales of goods and services.

The Nigerian International Financial Centre Bill, aims to produce three separate agencies, namely, the Nigeria International Financial Centre Authority (administrative body); Nigeria Internal Financial Centre Regulatory Authority and the Nigeria International Financial Centre Judicial Authority.

The effect of the three agencies would be to position properly the country at the centre of global finance and as such attract international finance into the economy.

The Office of the Nigerian Financial Ombudsman, 2015 which was also passed by the Senate on June 3 seeks to establish the Office of the Nigerian Financial Ombudsman, as an independent body charged with the responsibility of resolving financial and related disputes in the Nigerian financial services sector.

The establishment of the Office of the Financial Ombudsman is also expected to lead to efficiency in dispute resolution in the financial services sector.

The Convicts and Criminal Records Bill, 2015 aims to among others ensure a proper documentation of convicts and criminals for the purpose of keeping a record of criminals in the country.

President must have political will— Agbakoba

On his part, a former president of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, Mr Olisa Agbakoba, SAN, who highlighted ways the president could tackle corruption in the country said he (Buhari) must have the political will.

His words: “The first thing is to strengthen the anti-corruption agencies, he is also to make them independent and well-funded. He is to realign all the anti-corruption agencies into frameworks that can deliver. He would have to look at whether the EFCC, ICPC and Special Fraud Unit are not doing conflicting jobs. What is important is that first of all, he must have the political will, strengthen the anti-corruption agencies, he should also fund them. He should also give the anti-corruption agencies independence to go after anyone, who is found wanting without fear or favour.”

“We need new strong laws, the laws to tackle corruption now are weak, they are also duplicating and confusing and sometimes, the laws are wrong. So, sometimes, we need simple laws that will state who is a corrupt person.”

Continuing, the legal luminary added: “What is important is the political will, strong institutions, allow these institutions to work independently and finally, give them the money to work. Once you have these four things in place, it is very easy to fight corruption. But when you now have an agenda, then, there is a problem. For instance, if you want to go against corruption in the oil industry, if you are president, you must be prepared to allow whatever comes out of the probe to come. But if you want to hide anyone, then, there is a problem. These are the ways you can fight corruption.”

Photos: Sule Lamido Returns To Nigeria

Immediate past governor of Jigawa state, Alhaji Sule Lamido, who has been accused of conspiring with his sons, Aminu and Mustapha Lamido to steal about N1.3 billion from his state while he was governor, returned to Nigeria yesterday June 15th. He went on holiday immediately after handing over power to the new governor. When he returned yesterday, he was welcomed by his teaming supporters at the Dutse International Airport.

Alhaji Lamido while responding to questions from newsmen at his home in Bamaina village in Birninkudu Local Government area of the state said he is aware of the EFCC invitation and he will be honoring it.

Buhari Tells Nigerians In South Africa To Respect Themselves(PICTURED)

During his visit to Nigerian residents in South Africa yesterday, President Buhari told them to conduct themselves with respect in the country, promising to look into how to strengthen Nigeria's relationship with South Africa and also look into the recent Xenophobic attacks.

"Those of you who have the opportunity to come here and represent us, make sure that you are representing Nigeria, you are all ambassadors of Nigeria. This means a lot of patience, restraint and self-respect and pride. You must have all these.”

Speaking about what he plans to do to make Nigeria better, president Buhari said

“Government is determined to secure the country, manage the economy, create employment and fight corruption. Some articulate writers have said if we do not kill corruption in Nigeria, corruption will kill Nigeria. This APC administration intends to kill corruption in Nigeria. We will do our best, I assure you."

Ex-president Jonathan To Be Immortalized In July

Nigerians are not meant for good things this man no doubt is the best president ever since 1960 forget all those propaganda and violent distraction used in pulling down his hardwork.

i love you Gej #nohomo
the Mandela of our country loved by all even Buhari can't hide his love for you.

forever in my heart

Two Nigerian authors seem to have found a perfect way to keep ex-president Goodluck Ebele Jonathan living forever. The duo who teamed up shortly after the elections to carryout this daunting task said they were undertaking the project to applaud the former president’s heroic feats.

Ex-President Jonathan To Be Immortalized In July
Former president Goodluck Jonathan
By the 21st of July, a book in honour of Jonathan’ will be released. The book is titled: “The New Face of African Democracy‎.”

This project was executed by Mr Ayo George and Dayo Taiwo both of who agree that the just unseated president deserves a plethora of accolades.

‎Mr. Jonathan’s ambition for a second tenure in office was cut short at the presidential polls by General Muhammadu Buhari the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate, but that loss seem in no way to have done much of a damage to his personality.

According to reports by Premium Times, Mr. George told journalists in Lagos‎ on Sunday that he was super excited at the prospect of releasing a book written about a former president.

He said they had started writing the book long before the elections, because they felt Dr. Goodluck needed to be celebrated regardless if he won or lost the elections. He added though, that when president Jonathan lost, they felt a greater need to complete the book. This Mr George stated to make it categorically clear that the book wasn’t meant to patronize Dr Ebele Jonathan in the first place.

Mr George went on to say that Africa must begin to write her own stories. He was of the opinion that African children must read about the great men of the black race; one of such men being Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

“He is presently being suggested for the Nobel Peace prize, and our plans for the promotion of this book is part of that suggestion.” Mr George added.

In agreement with all Mr Ayo George said, Mr. Taiwo, the co-author further revealed that a 30-day countdown to the official release would begin by the 22nd of June, and by July 21, the book would be released on various platforms across the world. He added that the 30-day countdown was going to be very exciting, involving a lot of social media hype and razzmatazz all through the dates.

He didn’t forget to add that so much was up their sleeves as regards giving the book a firm presence especially across Africa, arguing that regardless of the varied opinions of Nigerians, the public would generally agree that the former president needs to be celebrated, hence the need to release the book.

Goodluck Jonathan seems to have written his name in gold, with the major role he played in the peaceful transition after losing out in the last election.

The former president has been lauded by the local and foreign media for that historic phone call that conceded defeat in the 2015 presidential elections.

To many, he has become an icon of peace and a beacon of hope for a better future, not only for Nigeria, but indeed Africa as a whole.

Govt Terminates Ethnic Militia Pipeline Surveillance Contract

THE Federal Government has terminated the pipeline surveillance and protection contract recently awarded to some ethnic militia by former President Goodluck Jonathan.

One of the beneficiaries of the pipeline job, the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC), which confirmed this in a statement yesterday by its Publicity Secretary, Mr. Sylvester Eweka, said the Federal Government had also drafted armed military personnel to take over the security of the facilities from the operatives.

The take-over, according Eweka, had already led to a violent clash between operatives of the militia group and the police at the oil pipeline close to Sagamu, Ogun State, during which three of its personnel had been declared missing. According to the statement, those missing were Babatunde Adeyemi, Roland Ajayi and Orungbeja Dele-Osagie.

The men went missing after an armed military task-force attempted to forcefully eject them from their area of operation at the pipeline area. The statement said: “On Sunday, a lorry-load of task force members invaded the Sagamu area, claiming it had orders to forcefully reclaim control of the pipeline area.

“Irked by this unceremonious move, the private security operatives said they had no signal from their management to vacate the site.

“However, after the ensuing fracas, three men could not be accounted for by their team leaders. “Many of the security operatives fled the scene, amidst shooting by the task-force.

“The three men were part of the 4,000 private security operatives employed by New Age Global Business representing the OPC in the contract with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) to provide security against criminals engaged in pipeline vandalism and petroleum products stealing.

“At the weekend, NNPC abruptly sent an SMS message terminating the pipeline security contract with effect from June 15, 2015.”

The Publicity Secretary, who said the OPC security outfits involved in the contract were being owed three months salary, further said: “We also demand that the NNPC immediately takes responsibility for the damages caused the group and ensure swift payment of all arrears.”

5 Reasons Why The Saraki And Ekweremadu Partnership Won't Last

The euphoria that greeted the emergence of senate president, Bukola Saraki and his deputy, Ike Ekweremadu seem to have died down already. Reality seem to have set in as legislative business commences.
I Already, the aggrieved All Progressives Congress (APC) senators also known as Senate Unity Forum, who didn’t support Saraki, has demanded the immediate resignation of Ekweremadu, as part of conditions that they say would make them recognise Saraki as the  senate president.

Although their demands have been rebuffed by their Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) counterparts, there are fears that if the APC senators resolve their differences, the deputy senate president might be shown the way out.

Naij.com analyses why the pair of Saraki and Ekweremadu might be history sooner or later. Read below:

1. Saraki Cannot Be Trusted: The senate president is an ambitious politician. Of course, it is not a crime to be ambitious, but Saraki’s ambition might make him dump his political ally on the way side. The former governor of Kwara state has never hidden his ambition to emerge as the senate president even immediately after he was elected into the upper chamber. He challenged former senate president, David Mark to the position at some point. Saraki, under pressure from his APC colleagues, is capable of sacrificing Ekweremadu in order to retain his seat.

2. APC Might Unite Again: There is every possibility that the APC senators might find a common ground and unite for the sake of their party. If this scenario occurs, this will leave Ekweremadu in a difficult position. As the APC senators might push for his removal and Saraki will be left with no choice.

3. PDP Lack The Numbers: If the APC succeeds in rallying behind Saraki, the PDP might not be able to resist the forceful removal of Saraki. This is because they lack the numbers to challenge their APC counterparts if the contest boils down to head count.

4. The “Banana Peel” Factor: Banana peel is a word that was prominent in the Nigerian political lexicon from the year 1999 to 2007. This was because in-between those years, Nigeria had five senate presidents. The proverbial banana peel is a trap by opposition figures in the upper chamber to put their target in a tight position and ultimately cause his sack. The APC senators might adopt this strategy to oust Ekweremadu.

5. PDP In-fighting: The PDP is known for its internal squabbles. The party and infighting are like Siamese twins. The internal crisis of the party is what brought the party to its present state as Nigeria’s opposition party. The PDP have to be firm and supportive of Ekweremadu because any external penetration in their midst will put the deputy senate president’s job on the line. The senators have to wade off any attempt to cause confusion in their party.
